a) the history is much longer: we had cities with tens of thousands of inhabitants 5,000 years ago, and I suspect that we could even learn something from the decision-making processes of our hunter-gatherer ancestors.

b) despite this we’re not really that good at governance and collective decision-making. Have you read “Against Elections” by David Van Reybrouck ?

Agree, but sadly the same applies to politicians and to most citizens
